I am trying to be brave....

This a very silly, emotional post, but after just one morning of nursery, Master B has cracked it and has decided to stay all day to play with his new (and much more fun than mummy) friends! Which is as it should be! But, and prepare yourselves, for this, its very sentimental.....I miss him!

So I am keeping busy, busy, busy! I am firm believer in busy hands keep you from sitting, wallowing and allowing an emotion to swamp you. Sooooooooooooooooo...........
Better savour the quiet......he'll be back in fifty five minutes!!

I remember when my eldest started school and I was, like you, trying to be brave but inside I felt lost and redundant and emotional he was out there in the big world on his own without me like he was suppose to...but as the universe tends to do when you need it, a week or so later he got poorly and I was reminded he always needs his mama in one way or another.

Well done on being brave. MiniMad (my youngest) started in October and the first week was strange, he hated the second week and now well you can not drag him away, but he goes on a afternoon. I do miss him though

he has actually just thrown up copiously everywhere, I think that is what to expect for the next months! I am pondering the whole day thing.....I am grateful for opinions! Is it too much, my gut instinct is yes and a morning or afternoon three times a week is enough. Am I being over cautious? I would love some received wisdom?! x

Mine started with 2 half days at two and a half, and worked up to 3 days the summer they were 4 - mainly because being summer babies they had to go full time at primary school the September after they were 4. Be guided by him - you could always do a day and 2 mornings if he is enjoying it - space it out during the week so they don't come one after the other. All children are different, and you will soon know if he is overdoing it. And the germs are the downside unfortunately, but it's good for their immune system!

I just envy you having a little one still - I am already telling my big boys that I hope they will marry and have grandchildren for me at a young age!

Aah Mrs B, how could I resist such beauty? Hope you are all better soon. I send Scottish kisses, not Glasgow ones though, that would just be mean and plain uncalled for!!!

We're letting the Scottishness out now. It'll be square go's, name calling (I'm thinking bampot and numpty!), dreich days and braw bricht, moonlicht nichts, square sausage, jam pieces and Donald where's your troosers?
Not forgetting tunnocks teacakes, never forgetting those......

You will be fine... but I know how you feel. Once, my children went on vacation with their father for a week while I stayed home to attend classes. It was very quiet. I cleaned up the house and the next morning, everything was still in place... I had to close their bedroom doors and just pretend they were in their rooms sleeping. It was sad, but I lived.
