What a fab list. A great blogging friend keeps a special book just for recording favourite words and phrases. I copied her idea and gave some pretty little fabric notebooks and matching pens to all our female relatives and friends last year with instructions for their use. They are just great for dipping into and making you smile.

hurrah hurrah for wordiness, especially phantasmagorical, which whilst not on your fantastic list is still a pretty fab word!

ps. I am now learning what these words mean:
brouhaha
lackadaisical
and I'm so pleased to see verisimilitude, as (like most of the other words) it just rolls gloriously off the tounge

(I may have gone off on a tangent here...)

pps. Thank you for reinspiring my geeky english student who has languished rather since july...

Good Morning Mrs B...A question for you if you would be so kind??

In May/June next year me and the family are off to a wedding in scotland. Because its a 10/11 hour car journey from us, we are going to break it up. On the way, we are going to stop in the Lake District for 2 nights.
And then i was trying to think where we could stop about half way for one night on the way back and Manchester came up on multimaps as about half way. I suddenly remembered Mel Mel often talking about Styal? I know you've been there too as thats where she said she had met you.
What i would like to know, is do you think it would be a nice place to stop for a few hours on our journey home. We would be arriving on a Friday evening (so we are looking for somewhere to stay and to eat) and then probably leave Sat after having lunch somewhere. So i was thinking of just looking around some nice shoppies in the morning.
Any ideas of eateries and a little hotel/B&B would be greatly recieved.
Thank you. LissyLou xx

I've sent this same message to Mel Mel too.
